Shipping Protection

Shipping Protection is an optional add-on you can purchase at checkout when you buy from The Collector Edit. If the carrier loses your package in transit, we will reimburse you up to $3,000 of the item’s declared value. Shipping Protection is not insurance, and it must be added before your order ships.

What it covers

Shipping Protection covers a single situation: a package confirmed lost by the carrier while in transit. A package is considered lost only when the carrier’s tracking shows no delivery and no movement for 30 consecutive days, or the carrier formally confirms the loss in writing.

What it does not cover

  • Damage of any kind.
  • Any package with a confirmed signature or carrier proof of delivery (such as a delivery photo or GPS confirmation) to the correct address.
  • Anything that happens after the carrier marks the package delivered, including theft from your doorstep.
  • Claims that a delivered package was missing items or contained different items.
  • Orders shipped with any label other than the one we provided for that order.
  • Any situation other than carrier loss in transit.

How much you can be reimbursed

Reimbursement is based on the declared value — the price stated by The Collector Edit when you purchased the item — up to a maximum of $3,000 per customer, once per lifetime, combined across all accounts belonging to the same person, regardless of how many orders are placed or how many times protection is purchased. The Shipping Protection fee is non-refundable, including if a claim is denied.

How to file a claim

Contact us through our Contact page within 7 days of the ship date, or within 7 days of the last recorded tracking scan, whichever is later. Late claims are not eligible. We may require a signed declaration, a police report, and your full cooperation with our and the carrier’s investigation. Reimbursement is issued after the carrier’s trace process is complete. If you are reimbursed and later recover the item, it becomes the property of The Collector Edit and must be returned to us.

Opting out

Shipping Protection is optional. You can remove it before checkout by unchecking the Shipping Protection box in your cart. If you opt out, The Collector Edit is not responsible for any loss of your package in transit.
